October Events at KWC

Karyn Williams , Staff Writer

Have you finally gotten tired of sitting in your room all day?  Feeling lonely from a lack of human interaction?  Don’t worry.  September may have been a bust but October is sure to rile you up.   From unsolved crime to LGBTQ+ Pride, these KWC events are sure to get your blood pumping through those cold, dead veins.

We all know what October is most known:  spooks and scares.  So Kentucky Wesleyan’s official radio station, WKWC Radio, is bringing the fear with a new corner dedicated to local legends and unsolved mysteries around Kentucky and Louisiana. Hosted by your resident sophomore students, Makaelah Giles and Aubrey Rivera, tune in from 7 to 9 PM every Friday through the month of October for your weekly dose of spine-chilling stories.  Have a story you’d like to share from Kentucky, Louisiana, or even from campus?  Direct Message them on their Instagram or Facebook page (kwcpantherradio).  You might just hear your story on the air!

But don’t forget, October may be the month of scares and spooks but it’s also national LGBTQ+ History month.  Prism (KWC’s LGBTQ+ student organization) and Alpha Psi Omega are partnering to bring you Sexual Orientation and Gender Diversity week.  The week of October 4th through the 10th celebrate Pride in yourself and others with six days of activities and events.   Check out the calendar below to keep track of events so you don’t miss out!

Whether you stay in for spooks or come out for Pride, October is sure to be filled with plenty of excitement.  With so much to do you’ll surely be cleaning the cobwebs from your coats (or leaving them for decorative purposes).
